Specialty court program grads celebrated

The latest combined class of the Rochester Drug Treatment Court, Monroe County Mental Health Court and the Monroe County Judicial Diversion Program celebrated their graduation Friday at the Hall of Justice.

Several judges, including Judge John R. Schwartz, supervising judge of the specialty courts, were on hand to extend their congratulations and offer support. Judge Craig J. Doran, administrative judge of the eight-county Seventh Judicial District, also attended.

The specialty courts offer an alternative to incarceration for qualified people whose problems contributed to their criminal activity and are willing to get help to lead a productive life.

The courtroom was filled with staff, family members and others to wishing them success in their futures.
