Tenants move into new Chili housing units

Union Meadows Phase II, located at 45, 46 Union Square Blvd., in North Chili, opens its doors to its new tenants this week.

Phase II includes a 42-unit apartment project, 18 one-bedroom units, 20 two-bedroom units and 4 three-bedroom units. A one-car garage is attached to each unit.

Currently under construction is a 1,300 sq ft. community building for residents.

Designed for well-elderly, working families with children, and physically disabled individuals who require handicapped accessible units, with annual incomes of  $18,000 to $23,000, according to Roger Brandt, president of Rochester’s Cornerstone Group, Ltd.

LECESSE Construction is the general contractor, while SWBR Architects and Parrone Engineering designed the project. Providence Housing Development Corp. will manage the property.

Brandt said the project totaled to just over $8 million, with financing from partners including NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal Housing Trust Fund Corporation and Federal low income housing tax credits, Federal Home Loan Bank, Monroe County Department of Planning and Community Development, The Greater Rochester Housing Partnership (pre-construction lender), JPMorgan Chase Bank (construction lender) and WNC & Associates, Inc. (private equity partner).
