Sunshine Camp golf benefit

The Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp benefitted from two days of golfing and fundraisers Aug. 22 through 23.
On Sunday, Aug. 22, the Peter’s Pals Putt Putt Invitational paired campers with Rotarians and other volunteers. The children’s tournament co-chairs are Peter Formicola’s grandsons, Peter and George.
Campers representing the partners of the Sunshine Campus from Heritage Christian Services, Mary Cariola Children’s Center, the American Diabetes Association, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Camp Haccamo played 18 holes.
On Monday, Aug. 23, the Peter D. Formicola Sunshine Camp Golf Invitational was held at Midvale Country Club. Hosted by the Rochester Rotary Club, the tournament drew 190 golfers who raised more than $150,000 for the Sunshine Camp, which serves more than 2,000 children and adults with special needs each summer in Rush.
