Drug company to pay more than $313M over Celexa

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Forest Pharmaceuticals Inc. has agreed to pay more than $313 million and to enter a guilty plea regarding illegal promotion of the drug Celexa for use in treating children and adolescents suffering from depression.

The Justice Department says the company has agreed to plead guilty to obstructing justice, distributing an unapproved drug and distributing a misbranded drug in interstate commerce.
