Hearings set on access to civil legal services

New York State Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman has scheduled four hearings across the state to address a growing crisis in unmet civil legal service needs.

The Fourth Department hearing will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Appellate Division, 50 East Ave., Rochester.

State Bar President Stephen P. Younger, (Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP), will help preside over the hearings which was assess the extent and nature of the issue statewide to help formulate recommendations to the governor and

Legislature on the appropriate level and source of public resources to meet those needs.
