African trade promoted

The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University and Empire State Development are partnering to launch the new Africa Business Center.

Officials hope the center can leverage the university’s academic knowledge and combine it with ESD’s global assets to promote and inform New York businesses of opportunities in Africa.

The partnership will offer training programs and other support to businesses seeking to build relationships on the African continent.

Peter Koveos, senior director of international programs and the Kiebach Chair in International Business Studies in the Whitman School; and Pierre Yourougou, clinical associate professor of finance and managing director of the Africa business program will lead the new program.
