ALBANY — Gov. David Paterson is setting a lengthy agenda for the special session he’s compelling the Legislature to attend on Monday.
Agenda items include renaming the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel for Gov. Hugh L. Carey, a Democrat credited with bringing New York City from the edge of bankruptcy in the 1970s.
Chief among the items are budget cuts to address a deficit of at least $315 million.
However, there has been little if any serious negotiation on any deficit reduction plan or the other issues Paterson put on the agenda.
The other items include a fiscal plan for the continued operation of New York City Off-Track Betting Corp. and confirmation of 147 of Paterson’s appointments to various posts.
Paterson also proposes to give raises to judges.
