Library hosting New Year’s Eve party

The Rochester Public Library is hosting a New Year’s Eve party to kick off its 100th Anniversary.

The event runs 7:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31 at the grand Art Deco hall of the Rundel Building at the Central Library, 115 South Ave., which will be turned into a supper club. Featured will be live jazz by Matt Valerio, dancing, two hours of open bar, dinner catered by Mario’s, dessert and a champagne toast.

The site provides a good view of the city’s fireworks over the Genesee River at 10 p.m. The evening includes free parking in the Court Street garage; guests can enter the library through the link from the garage and never have to go outside.

A souvenir champagne flute and a gift bag filled with RPL 100th commemorative items are also included in the ticket price of $75 per person.

Tickets are on sale at the Central Library Bookstore or call the Rundel Library Foundation Office at 428-8324.

The party is the first in a series of events celebrating the library’s centennial year.
