BUFFALO — Four jurors have been seated so far for the second-degree murder trial of a New York television executive charged with beheading his wife.
The jurors, all men, are the first of 12 and 4 alternates who will hear the case against Muzzammil Hassan in Erie County Court in Buffalo. They were chosen Tuesday after a day and a half of interviews.
Jury selection continues with questions about potential jurors’ experiences with domestic violence, ability to stomach gruesome evidence, and whether they have preconceived notions about the Pakistan-born Hassan’s ethnicity or his potential battered spouse claims.
Hassan’s accused of killing Aasiya Hassan in 2009 at the TV station the couple founded to counter negative images of Muslims.
