Allegany County judge donates for K-9 door

An automatic vehicle door opener will help Trooper Dean E. Nolte and his K-9 partner Nugent in their police work. The door was funded by a donation by Allegany County Judge Terrence M. Parker.

Judge Parker made the donation in December while still serving as Allegany County district attorney, through the New York State Trooper Foundation, a charitable corporation to help troopers, supported entirely by private contributions.

The “Bail Out” door opening system, manufactured by Criminalistics Inc. of Miami, unlocks, unlatches, pushes and holds open the police vehicle’s door, releasing Nugent from the vehicle with the press of a single button.

“We are grateful to Judge Parker for providing us with this proven equipment that will maximize our newest K-9 team’s effectiveness,” said Capt. Tim Talley, zone commander in Amity where Nolte and Nugent are assigned.
