By: Daily Record Staff//February 14, 2011

Christian Barroso, 22, of Nassau County, has pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa to the possession of child pornography.

Barroso faces up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine or both.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany H. Lee said the defendant admitted downloading and sharing child pornography and possessing child pornography in January 2010 while residing in the Western District of New York. Barroso also admitted that the images included sexually explicit depictions of minors under 12 years of age.

The plea was the culmination of an investigation on the part of the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit, under the direction of Capt. Frank Pace; the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, directed by District Attorney Michael C. Green; and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, directed by Special Agent in Charge Lev Kubiak.
