David Lorow, 50, of Hornell, has pleaded guilty before U. S. District Court Judge Charles J. Siragusa to knowingly possessing child pornography before.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany H. Lee said that in November 2009, while residing in the Western District of New York, the defendant downloaded and shared child pornography using file-sharing software. The images included sexually explicit depictions of minors under 12 years old.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 31.
