State police issue 15 cell phone tickets

The New York State Police Zone II, Troop A, which encompasses Erie and Wyoming counties, issued 56 traffic tickets on Wednesday.

Of those tickets, 15 were issued for talking on a cell phone while driving. Upon conviction of talking on a cell phone while driving, offenders will now have 2 points added to their license in addition to a fine.

The state police will continue to actively enforce the law that bans driving while talking on a cell phone.
