NEW YORK CITY — A production executive on the film “Caddyshack” has filed a lawsuit in New York against the makers of a documentary on the comedy classic for making him out to be a snitch.
In papers filed in State Supreme Court in Manhattan on Monday, 53-year-old Rusty Lemorande claims the makers of “Caddyshack: The Inside Story” portrayed him as a spy for the movie’s producer.
He says he has suffered serious damage to his reputation and is suing the documentary’s creators, Pangolin Pictures, and distributor A&E Television for $6 million. He’s also demanding a retraction.
The 1980 golf comedy starred Chevy Chase, Bill Murray and Rodney Dangerfield.
A&E declined to comment. A message left for Pangolin Pictures wasn’t immediately returned.
