BUFFALO — Two members of New York’s congressional delegation whose districts are near the northern border say they’ve got a plan to make passports more affordable.
Democrats Brian Higgins and Kathy Hochul say they’ll announce plans Friday to introduce two pieces of legislation.
Higgins and Hochul are cosponsoring the bills they say will make the documents more affordable. Their constituents need passports now more than ever because of stricter document requirements for travelers crossing the U.S.-Canadian border.
Both members of Congress serve on the Homeland Security Committee.
There are four border crossings in their western New York area.
