City plans anti-violence march and party

The City of Rochester Department of Recreation and Youth Services and The Charles Settlement House’s Youth Development Program will host an anti-violence march and block party on Saturday.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Edgerton Community Center Complex, 41 Backus St. It was organized by youth in the community who are concerned about the violence in their neighborhoods. They have invited community leaders to participate, as well as neighborhood groups, community agencies and other youth from the community.

The march will begin at 11 a.m. at the Edgerton Community Center and will circle the four block radius around the center, returning to the field behind the center. The block party will begin at noon with free food, music, speakers, raffles and more.
