BUFFALO — A New York City man has received a sentence of home confinement for phoning in a bomb threat to the Buffalo campaign headquarters of former gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino.
The U.S. Attorney’s office in Buffalo says 63-year-old Miles Fisher was sentenced Tuesday to six months of home detention. Fisher pleaded guilty in May to making a harassing and threatening phone call.
Fisher said in his April 2010 call that he was going to bomb the Paladino-owned office building housing the “Paladino for the People” campaign offices. More than 700 people were evacuated. Among them was Paladino spokesman Michael Caputo, who criticized Tuesday’s sentencing as a slap on the wrist.
