The Bittner School of Business at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford hosted a banquet Wednesday to honor the alumni winners of the Excellence in Management Award and the Dean’s Medal for Outstanding Service.

The event took place at the Genesee Valley Club. Awards were presented by college President Donald Bain; David Martin, dean of the Bittner School; and Michael Goonan ‘75, chair of the board of trustees.

The recipient of the Excellence in Management Award is Daniel Gallagher ‘80. The award recognizes outstanding leadership and managerial accomplishments in business, academia or a community-based organization; a proven track record of significant accomplishments in the field of management; a record of community involvement; and a commitment to St. John Fisher College.

He also served in a number of management capacities with Nortel Networks and Computer Consoles Inc. His career has been focused on bringing innovative technology solutions for voice processing, call processing, directory services, billing systems, and intelligent network databases to the telecommunications marketplace.

Gallagher serves as chairman of the Bittner School’s Business Advisory Council and on the Membership Committee of the Rochester Business Alliance.
