County Executive Maggie Brooks has received the official endorsements of the Monroe County Conservative and Independence parties in her campaign for Congress.
The Conservative nomination was secured by a unanimous 22-0 vote of the executive committee.
“The Monroe County Conservative Party is proud to endorse our outstanding county executive, Maggie Brooks, in the race for Monroe County’s new 25th Congressional District,” said Conservative Party Chairman Thomas D. Cook. “Since first being elected to public office in 1996, Maggie has been everything that Monroe County Conservatives could ask for and more. … In fact, she stands in sharp contrast to her opponent in this race because of one fundamental difference — Maggie fights to always put the taxpayer first.”
Brooks said she was “truly proud” and honored to receive the endorsements. In her three countywide elections, Brooks has garnered an average of more than 11,000 votes on the Conservative line and nearly 7,800 votes on the Independence line. The Monroe County Conservative and Independence parties, headquartered in Pittsford and Rochester respectively, are official branches of their respective state parties.
“As taxpayers who live in this community, we have witnessed Maggie’s leadership on tax stability and job creation first-hand. Maggie has also proven capable and willing to work with public and private sector leaders from across the political spectrum to move our community forward,” said Independence Party Chairman Stephen Corryn.
