The National Republican Congressional Committee has given the campaign of County Executive Maggie Brooks “Young Gun” status, the top tier of the committee’s four-level recruitment program.
Brooks is running in New York’s redrawn 25th Congressional District.
“Maggie Brooks has met a series of rigorous goals that will put her in position to win on Election Day,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions, R-Texas. “Maggie Brooks is leading the pack as Republicans continue to send a loud and clear message that we will hold Democrats accountable for their unpopular partisan agenda.”
Brooks said she was honored to join only 21 other congressional challengers from across the nation in qualifying for top-tier status within the NRCC’s Young Guns Program at this point in the 2012 campaign.
“Following an outpouring of support from local voters since we announced our intention to bring the Monroe County record of success to Washington, I am proud that our message of more jobs, lower taxes and higher quality of life is garnering significant national attention as well,” she said. “Together, with the backing of the NRCC and the continued support of local voters, we will take our good government record to Congress this Election Day.”
