Corporate counsel recognizes law firms

The Association of Corporate Counsel is recognizing several legal organizations as 2012 “ACC Value champions that delivered “substantial value” to clients through value-focused legal management skills.

“These law departments and law firms have developed and implemented initiatives to deliver bottom-line results for their clients,” said Veta T. Richardson, president & CEO of ACC. “By demonstrating creative lawyering and good old-fashioned business sense, these ACC Value Champions not only controlled legal spending, but they also improved legal outcomes for their clients.”

Champions are GlaxoSmithKline; The Home Depot; Lucchini SpA; Medtronic; Pfizer Inc.; RBC Capital Markets and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP; Rockwell Collins and Seyfarth Shaw LLP; The Sherwin-Williams Company and Gallagher Sharp; Target and Nilan Johnson Lewis PA; Tyco International Ltd. and Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP; United Retirement Plan Consultants and Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP; and Whirlpool Corporation and Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell LLP.
