ABA wins national award

The American Bar Association Commission on Law and Aging captured a top national award for “Giving Someone a Power of Attorney for Your Healthcare” brochure from the Center for Plain Language, a national organization dedicated to promoting clear and concise language in business, nonprofits and government.

The brochure took the top category award in a new awards category:  Original or new document, legal.

A division of the U.S. Department of Education won the Grand ClearMark Award for a clear, concise online brochure designed to help parents, teachers, journalists, policy makers, researchers and other interested in education easily understand the relevance of the educational statistics.

The awards were presented May 22 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., as part of the Clarity International Conference, also held at the National Press Club from May 21 to 23.
