A Developer Guidance Handbook is now available on the city of Rochester website.
The handbook is to help developers and residents understand the necessary steps to begin and complete a construction or rehabilitation project in the city.
“The Developer Guidance Handbook is an invaluable resource that will help us provide excellent customer service to our development community,” said Mayor Thomas S. Richards. “This Handbook will give investors an excellent tool to help them succeed while protecting the natural and man-made resources that make this city such a great investment.”
Coupled with the personal guidance provided by the professional design staff in the Bureau of Planning and Zoning’s permit office, the handbook will promote sustainable building opportunities by explaining the city development process in an easy-to-understand format that includes narrative content, graphics and flowcharts. Topics include permitting procedures, code requirements, Rochester geography, utilities and infrastructure and available funding sources.
The handbook can be found on the city’s website at www.cityofrochester.gov/planningandzoning. Questions can be directed to Dorraine Kirkmire, manager of zoning, at (585) 428-6698.
