The Bonadio Group, an independent provider of accounting, consulting, and financial services, has promoted Robert Enright of Penfield as its chief operating officer.
Enright, an executive vice president for the firm, will be the first non-certified public accountant to function in the COO role.
“It’s necessary to have leaders in the firm who are not CPAs to support the evolving practice of the industry, and offer a different viewpoint to help us better meet our clients’ needs,” said Tom Bonadio, CEO and managing partner. “Bob’s knowledge of our industry, combined with his experience in managing everything from HR to marketing, makes him the ideal candidate for the job.”
Enright is credited for growing the firm’s government business in counties throughout New York state; helping secure and fulfill several contracts related to stemming waste and abuse; and assisting in developing a process for determining eligibility for several entitlement programs.
Enright joined The Bonadio Group in 2006 as a principal in the Government Services Division, after working in the not-for-profit sector, where he served as the executive director of the Rochester Rotary Club and Rotary Sunshine Camp. The next year, he was the first non-CPA to earn a spot in the company’s managerial ranks when he was promoted to executive vice president.
