A Monroe County Grand Jury on Tuesday indicted Domenick Lee Johnson, 21, on charges of murder for the Sept. 18 slaying of 18-year-old Malcolm McFarland during an attempted robbery.
McFarland, who was not involved in the robbery, was shot when he responded with others to the sound of gunfire. Johnson and McFarland were acquaintances.
Johnson is charged with one count of second-degree murder and two counts each of first-degree robbery and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
He is being held in Monroe County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
