Fund for court families

Many of the people affected by Hurricane Sandy, particularly downstate, are the state Unified Court System’s judges and non-judicial employees.

Some, according to the courts, have lost their homes, while others have lost personal possession and have been displaced.

To help, the Unified Court System has established the Court Families Assistance Fund. Donations will be used to provide UCS court personnel and their families with immediate financial assistance to help them through this difficult time for necessities such as food, clothing, shelter and medical care.

The fund was established in partnership with the Center for Court Innovation and the Fund for the City of New York. All donations are tax deductible.

Donations may be made online by going to the courts’ website at and clicking on “What’s New,” or making a check payable to Court Families Assistance Fund/FCNY, c/o Center for Court Innovation, 520 Eighth Ave., 18th floor, New York N.Y. 10018.
