2nd man charged in May shooting of 2 brothers

Authorities say they made a second arrest in the fatal shooting of a Rochester man last spring and the wounding of his brother after a fight over a dice game.

Rochester police tell local media outlets that 25-year-old Charles Perkins Jr. was charged Saturday with second-degree murder and assault in the May 29 shooting of Robert Vinson, also 25.

Officials say 31-year-old Kenyada Peterkin was arrested in connection with the shooting last Thursday and remains in Monroe County Jail.

Police say Perkins and Peterkin followed Vinson and his 23-year-old brother, Devon Vinson, 9 after a fight had occurred during a dice game.

Robert Vinson died in the shooting and Devon Vinson was wounded.

Perkins is in the county jail awaiting arraignment in Rochester City Court. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer.
