Ford Friendship Express applications available

Listen to this articleThe Rochester Area Ford Dealers will again be providing “new wheels” to local nonprofit organizations in need of transportation.
Groups interested in applying to the 2013 Ford Friendship Express program can download an application online at www.rochesterareaforddealers.com
“Through the program, we are honored to have the ability to give back to the community by donating a Ford van to organizations that serve the Rochester area,” said Dom Genova, representative for the Ford Friendship Express Selection Committee.
The application deadline is Feb. 1. Eligible organizations must be in Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario or Wayne counties. The 2013 van recipient will be announced at the Rochester International Auto Show in March.
Since its inception, the Ford Friendship Express program has awarded more than a dozen vans to Rochester nonprofits valued at nearly $350,000. Last year, ABVI-Goodwill received a new Ford Transit Connect van. The two runner-up organizations, Camp Good Days and Special Times and Catholic Family Center, each received a cash donation of $2,500 to support their daily operations.
