Reilich to host Second Amendment Day

Assemblyman Bill Reilich, R,C,I-Greece, is inviting Second Amendment advocates, sportsmen, businesses and constituents to join him at NY2A Day in Albany on Feb. 28 for a rally to protect the Second Amendment.

Throughout the day, participants from across the state will meet with their representatives regarding provisions of the NY SAFE Act and attend a rally in the West Capitol Park beginning at noon. Reilich is scheduled to speak at the rally.

“Law-abiding citizens are under attack from hasty government policies that threaten their constitutional right to keep and own legally-purchased firearms,” Reilich said. “The purpose of holding NY2A Day and this rally is to make it crystal clear to the governor and legislative leaders that amendments must be made to this law, because as it stands, the NY SAFE Act does not protect our communities.”

Slated to join him are National Rifle Association President David Keene, the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, SCOPE, County Sportsmen Federations, sportsmen advocacy groups and elected officials.

The event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., will be at the Legislative Office Building. The rally will be at West Capitol Park (the South Swan Street side).
