BUFFALO — The University at Buffalo’s plans to relocate its medical school have taken a step forward with the donation of land by First Niagara Financial Group.
UB — which actually paid a dollar for the $2 million parcel — is moving the medical school to Buffalo’s burgeoning downtown medical campus from elsewhere in the city.
The nearly one-acre parcel it acquired Wednesday is the last of three plots needed for the project.
With groundbreaking now set for September, construction is expected to be completed in 2016.
