A 34-year-old Syracuse man has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for a series of bank robberies in central and western New York.
Local media reports that James Nicholson was sentenced Tuesday to 4¾ years in prison and ordered to pay more than $94,000 in restitution.
Authorities say Nicholson and Brandon Rothenburgh of Syracuse robbed the First Niagara Bank in the Rochester suburb of Gates on June 18 and then again on Aug. 7. Officials say the two also robbed the Citizens Bank in Gates on July 12 and a Bank of America branch in Auburn on Aug. 30.
Rothenburgh was sentenced to 13¾ years in prison in February.
