The Justinian Order of St. John Fisher College will host its 12th annual civic luncheon for members of the judiciary, the bar, government, law enforcement and the business sector at noon Thursday at the Rochester Plaza Hotel.
Speaking will be Judge Frank P. Geraci Jr., U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York, who served as a Monroe County Court judge for 14 years before taking the federal bench in January, after being nominated by President Barack Obama last year.
A lifelong resident of Rochester, Geraci is a graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School, the University of Dayton, Ohio and the University of Dayton School of Law. He has also served as a special assistant Monroe County district attorney, assistant U.S. attorney and was in private practice with Jonathan Feldman, now a U.S. Magistrate judge, in 1987.
Judge Geraci has also been active in the Monroe County Bar Association and the Foundation of the Monroe County Bar; served on the county’s Graduated Restriction Advisory Board, the Monroe County Catholic School Board and the Diocese of Rochester’s Stewardship Council under the guidance of Bishop Matthew Clark; co-chaired the Seventh Judicial District’s Committee to Promote Trust and Confidence in the Legal System and was president of the University of Dayton Alumni Association’s Rochester Chapter and National Alumni Association.
Currently, Judge Geraci is president of Eastside Little League and a member of the Board of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, New York Branch.
