Rohrbach Brewing Co. is hoping a renovation project will help the company expand throughout the state.
The County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency, or COMIDA, on Tuesday approved more than $5,700 worth of sales tax exemptions for a $179,000 project.
RR97 LLP, which leases space to the related entity, plans to upgrade its 35,000-square-foot facility at 97 Railroad St. in the city. The renovations will accommodate a new canning line and result in two new full-time jobs over the next three years at the microbrewery.
Rohrbach moved to the facility in 2008, and business has doubled, said owner John Urlaub.
The canning line is expected to increase production by 30 percent and would result in more of the company’s craft beer landing on store shelves, Urlaub said.
“It’s a very hot market now,” Urlaub said.
