Monroe County Court Judge Dandrea Ruhlmann is making it official. She has announced her intention to seek re-election to Family Court in the November election.

Judge Ruhlmann has served for nearly a decade and has handled more than 12,000 cases during her term.

Judge Ruhlmann, who is the only judge of the four candidates seeking to fill two seats, is running on the Republican, Conservative, Working Families and Independence party lines.

Pittsford attorney Jim Walsh, who is running on the Republican and Conservative lines, and Democrats Nathan Van Loon, who received the Independence Party endorsement, and Juan Nevarez, who also is running on the Working Families line, are the other candidates.

Judge Ruhlmann, of Brighton, serves as the lead judge of Monroe County Family Court’s Enhanced Court Practices Collaborative and the Georgetown University Public Policy Institute’s Center for Juvenile Justice Reform Cross Over Youth Practice Model emphasizing best practices and improving outcomes for children.
