Xerox Corp. has decided to expand its toner operation in Webster, and officials said incentives offered by state and the County of Monroe Industrial Agency, or COMIDA.
Empire State Development recently announced a $500,000 grant that is tied to the creation of new jobs. COMIDA recently approved more than $400,000 worth of sales and property tax breaks, which was opposed by Webster government leaders.
The company plans to spend $35 million at the emulsion aggregation toner plant, which was opened in 2007. Two additions are planned, as is the purchase of about $26 million of manufacturing equipment.
Work will begin sometime this month and is expected to create 70 construction jobs. About 25 full-time Xerox jobs will be added over time, the company said.
