Tickets available for Obama’s Buffalo visit

AMHERST — President Barack Obama’s appearance at the University at Buffalo as part of a two-day bus tour later this week will be open to the public, but tickets are required.

The president is scheduled to speak Thursday at Alumni Arena on UB’s North Campus. Tickets were available beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Alumni Arena box office. Students, faculty and staff can enter an online lottery for tickets.

Thursday’s visit is part of a trip through upstate New York and Pennsylvania to lay out ideas for making college more affordable.

Details for his stops at Henninger High School in Syracuse and SUNY Binghamton haven’t been announced. Obama’s also stopping at Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pa., where he’ll be joined by Vice President Joe Biden, a native of the city.
