Eleven local charities have benefitted this year from nearly $55,000 in proceeds from the Genesee Brew House tasting bar in the microbrewery.
Each received a cash donation ranging from $3,000 to $10,000, promotion in the Brew House and a permanent plaque in the microbrewery. Organizations were chosen based on size, mission, location and program need.
Recipients include the American Heart Association, The Housing Council, Axemen Professional Firefighters Motorcycle Club of New York and Finger Lakes Regional Burn Association, Catholic Family Center of Rochester, Bivona Child Advocacy, Camp Good Days & Special Times Supportive Spouse and Friend Program, the Center for Environmental Initiatives, OASIS Adaptive Sports, R Community Bikes, St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center and Warrior Salute.
The Genesee Brew House Charity Program will continue in 2014. In the first quarter, tasting bar proceeds will benefit the Open Door Mission and the Advocacy Center.
Charitable organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation and a strong track record may apply to the program by contacting: Marychris Knittel at email@example.com. Donations must fund established programs that benefit the local community.
