Wolford sworn in as federal judge

Rochester attorney Elizabeth A. Wolford has been sworn in to serve as a U.S. District judge for the Western District of New York.

“While we will miss working with Liz on a daily basis, the team at The Wolford Law Firm is incredibly proud of her for this significant achievement,” said Michael R. Wolford, a partner at the The Wolford Law Firm LLP where Elizabeth Wolford worked for nearly 20 years before being confirmed by the U.S. Senate on Dec. 12.

She was recommended for the position by Sen. Charles Schumer in March and nominated by President Barack Obama in May.

The firm looks forward to welcoming Molly Shepard on Jan. 6. Shepard has served as a confidential law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Michael A. Telesca since October 2010. Prior to her clerkship, Shepard worked as an associate in the New York City office of Ropes & Gray LLP.
