The Rochester Business Alliance board of directors welcomed several new members Jan. 1.
The board also elected Nazareth College President Daan Braveman to a two-year term as chairman of the board. Braveman succeeds Rochester Business Journal Publisher Susan Holliday, who completed her term in December.
“I really see the role of Rochester Business Alliance in three areas,” Braveman said. “One is continuing to provide high quality and relevant services to RBA members in order to make sure they’re successful. A second key role for the organization is to advance the economic vitality of the region. The third thing is connecting business and the community in order to promote this region as the best place to live and work. I love this area so much that I would say jokingly to people, ‘I should work for the Chamber of Commerce.’ Now I am and I’m excited about it.”
Also joining the board are Tim Mason, CEO of Mason Marketing LLC; First Capital Payments CEO Hiram Hernandez, representing the Rochester Hispanic Business Council; Woods Oviatt Gilman partner Lorisa LaRocca, representing the Women’s Council; and Kimberly W. Gangi, a partner at Insero and Co., representing the Small Business Council.
