RG&E aiding upgrades to Canandaigua facility

Rochester Gas and Electric, a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, will provide up to $250,000 in funding for the purchase and installation of equipment to meet the complex energy needs of a growing list of companies at the State University College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering’s Smart System Technology & Commercialization Center in Canandaigua.

Funding supports recent capital investment and job creation announcements by

Dynamax Imaging and Xerox and enables future high-tech growth at CNSE’s STC site.

RG&E will provide grant assistance to help offset the costs to purchase and install three leading-edge electrical transformers that will condition the building’s electricity, enabling CNSE’s STC and its partner companies to minimize voltage fluctuations which could affect products that are in-process in some of the most advanced semiconductor equipment in the world.

RG&E’s energy infrastructure investment collaboration with CNSE’s STC also builds upon Xerox’s recently announced insourcing of manufacturing from China and the creation and retention of up to 100 high-tech jobs at CNSE’s STC campus.

In addition, Dynamax Imaging recently announced plans to add 30 to 50 high-tech positions at the Canandaigua site in 2014.
