Attorney sentenced for filing false tax returns

Lisa M. Yaeger, 50, of Buffalo, who was convicted of submitting false documents to the Internal Revenue Service, has been sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara to time served and six months supervised release.

Yaeger, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Gretchen L. Wylegala, failed to report substantial amounts of income she received from her private practice 2005, 2006 and 2007. She said Yaeger is an attorney who was employed in a variety of public positions and also maintained a private practice.

The tax loss attributable to the undisclosed income exceeded $22,000. Yeager has made full restitution.
