Arnprior Rapid Manufacturing Solutions Inc., a fabricated metal product manufacturer, has signed a new seven-year lease to remain at the Eastman Business Park in Rochester, instead of moving operations to Tennessee and Connecticut.
The company, which will invest $3.68 million into new technology and equipment, will retain 150 jobs and add an additional 30 new jobs. The Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council Strategic Plan identified maintenance and expansion of Eastman Business Park in Rochester as a top priority to grow the region’s economy and create jobs.
Chris Howell, Arnprior vice president and general manager, said the company believes the Greater Rochester Region has all the attributes necessary for a manufacturing concern to flourish in the current global landscape: An entrepreneurial culture; a skilled workforce; world class universities, community colleges and vocational schools; state and local government policies and initiatives geared toward technology and innovation.
Arnprior qualified for up to $600,000 in performance-based Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits from the state in return for its proposed investment and job creation commitments.
