Mendon credit rating upgraded

The Standard & Poor’s Financial Services bond rating agency has upgraded the town of Mendon’s credit rating to AA+, according to a statement by Town Supervisor John D. Moffitt.

The town will be allowed to secure lower interest rates for future borrowing and the service of existing debt, Moffett said.

The town’s $4.8 million spending plan for the year froze the property tax rate for residents in the town and delivered a $2.57 percent cut for residents living in the village of Honeoye Falls.
