Waterloo gets grant for clean water system

A $185,000 grant and $915,000 loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture has been approved for the town of Waterloo in Seneca County.

Funding, as announced Wednesday by Sens. Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, will be used to create a water system that provides access to clean drinking water for residents who currently extract their water from wells with poor water quality.

The project will create a clean water system for residents that is compliant with regulations and compatible with area wide economic development initiatives.
