Several Seventh Judicial District employees of the state Unified Court System and security officers were honored April 29 with longevity pins in appreciation of their service.
Administrative Judge Craig J. Doran hosted the ceremony at the Hall of Justice, followed by a luncheon reception in his chambers.
“This is wonderful that we have such a great turnout for this,” he said, gazing at the standing-room only crowd that included several judges. He praised the staff for their hard work and devotion to the public and each other, particularly during the last couple of years when government cutbacks forced the state to lay off about 10 percent of its court work force.
“You literally are at the front line of making sure justice is served and how many jobs are more important than that?” Judge Doran asked.
