Nonprofit hosts art fundraiser

Local nonprofit summer camp Girls Rock! Rochester will host a live art auction fundraiser, featuring donated work from some of Rochester’s best contemporary artists, as well as artists from Brooklyn, Chicago and Florida on Saturday at the 1975 Gallery. Artists include Andy Gilmore, Katie Carey, Adam Maida, Ashley Landon (The Knotty Owl), Mike Turzanski, Anna Bond (Rifle Paper Co.), Sonnenzimmer, Rachel Gottesman and more. Pieces will range from drawings and paintings to textiles and ceramics.

A $5 to $10 sliding scale admission donation includes hors d’oeuvres throughout the night, as well as complimentary beer for patrons who are 21 and over . Local food trucks Hello Arepa, Sweetly Spun Cotton Candy Co. and The Hype Booth will also be at the event.

Doors open at 7 p.m.; the auction starts at 8 p.m. “Buy it now” items will be available for purchase along with the auction items.
