Cuomo doubts need for new Bills venue

BUFFALO (AP) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo isn’t convinced the Buffalo Bills will need a new stadium once the team is sold, but said the state will help out if one is required.

In Buffalo on Tuesday, Cuomo said whatever happens will depend on what conditions the new owner and National Football League set for keeping the Bills in Buffalo.

The team is for sale following the death of owner Ralph Wilson and the current stadium is undergoing $130 million in improvements.

Cuomo told local media that if a new stadium really is needed, the state and county will do their part.

Also Tuesday, Cuomo said he knows of bidders interested in keeping the team in Buffalo — despite Donald Trump’s tweet that he’s the only prospective buyer committed to doing so.
