Agencies, city partner to help hungry children

The city is again partnering with the Rochester City School District, the Rochester Area Community Foundation, the Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency and Foodlink to provide free breakfast and lunch to children 18 and under during the summer.

More than 60 sites throughout the city will serve breakfast and lunch thanks to the support of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program. For details about the program, including a full list of locations and serving times, visit www.healthikids.org, www.cityofrochester.gov/summermeals, the city school district website at www.rcsdk12.org or by calling (585) 428-7872 or the RCSD Office of School Food Service at (585) 336-4118.

According to the city school district, more than 80 percent of its students participate in the school-year federal free and reduced price food program.
