Biden to address Detroit conference

On Thursday, Vice President Joe Biden will deliver remarks in Detroit to attendees of Netroots Nation, the largest gathering of progressives and the Democratic activist base.

The conference runs through Sunday at the COBO Center.

Other speakers include Sens. Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., and Chris Murphy, D-Conn.; Reps. Gary Peters, Dan Kildee and John Conyers, D-Mich., Keith Ellison, D-Minn., Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz., and Alan Lowenthal  and Mark Takano, D-Calif.; Gov. Howard Dean; the Rev. William Barber; Michigan gubernatorial candidate Mark Schauer and more.

Netroots Nation will bring together 3,000 progressive activists and leaders to discuss key issues of the day and strategize for upcoming political battles in 2014 and 2016. The conference also features 80 panels on topics ranging from the 2014 elections, economic populism, reproductive rights and more.
