The Women’s Council, a Rochester Business Alliance affiliate, has added the Athena Young Professional Award to its annual Athena Awards celebration.
Nominations are now open for both awards to be presented at the Women’s Council’s 29th annual Athena Awards luncheon Jan. 22, 2015.
The new award will recognize emerging leaders in the 30- to 45-year-old range who demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession. Recipients also should provide community service.
The Athena Award is given annually by the Women’s Council to a professional female leader who has demonstrated significant achievements in business, community service, and the professional advancement of women. Changes this year in the eligibility requirements removed a three-nomination career limit. Professionals may now be nominated two years in a row, but there must be a one-year gap before any subsequent nominations.
To nominate someone, visit the Women’s Council website at www.GRWC.com. Only online submissions will be accepted. The nomination deadline is Oct. 6.
